Before going to our topic let us discuss what is health. HEALTH is a state of physical, mental & social well being in which disease & infirmity are absent. Health is a resource to support an individual’s function in wider society. Let’s go to the concept.
Health is divided into two major groups. They are
- PHYSICAL HEALTH
- MENTAL HEALTH
In this topic we will discuss about how physical and mental health are inter connected. Generally we all are more conscious about physical health but not about mental health .
Physical health is defined as the condition of our body in the absence of disease. Simply we can define that this is the healthy state of our physical body OR how healthy our physical body is . If there is any change & disorder occur then that person is called as physically ill .
Mental health constitutes emotional, psychological, & social condition which regulates our thinking, feeling , processing & expressing abilities . If we are fit in these areas then we will be called as mental & social well being. When there is any disorder, that person is called as mentally ill.
RELATION BETWEEN PHYSICAL HEALTH & MENTAL HEALTH
Both are inter linked. When we are affected by any disease then our mental & physical health are affected. People with serious mental health conditions are at high risk of affected by chronic physical conditions & People with chronic physical condition may or may not be affected mental health.
From the above we conclude that, both physical & mental health are important for us but in our society we generally neglect mental health . Please do not do that because if mental health is affected then there is a high risk of affecting physical health.
