Generally we all use these terms interchangeably but there are some differences. Let’s discuss it.
Before we discuss these terms 1st we have to understand what is proton, electron & neutron. Simply
proton – positively charged particles.
Electron – Negatively charged particles.
Neutron – Neutral charge particles.
Proton & Neutron present inside the nucleus, while the electron revolving around it. It is the basic unit of a matter.
An element is made up of same type of atom. These are represented using symbols. There are 118 elements are present & they are classified as metal, non metal & metalloids. Ex – H, C, N, O
These are the substances made up two or more than same types of elements linked via chemical bond. Ex – O=O
Compound contains two or more than two types of different emements in a fixed ratio joined chemically. Ex- H2SO4
Atom — Element — Molecule (same type of element) — Compound( different types of element).
